Am I Really THAT Cheap?

Ever wonder how other people perceive you?

Not often do I think about this; maybe every now and then. Though, recently, a situation arose in which I pensively chuckled about this very question.

Here's how the situation went:

Several days ago, we were invited to our friend's house for dinner. After the meal, we were all sitting around visiting when my son walked out of the playroom with a pencil and paper and asked me how to spell "massage." Since our son and their daughter are both around the same age, I quickly asked, "Why do you need to know how to spell massaaage?" He says, "Well, Maria and I are going to open a massage parlor and we need a sign up sheet. It will be one dollar each for a massage, so sign your name." Ahhh...okay...it's a money making scheme. So, we all signed up.

Funny...or should I say, interesting...how the minds of children work. When my name was called, I walked into the playroom parlor and had to sit on the bed. First, I was asked to pick my "flavor" of lotion - so I opted for a soft, warm brown sugar scent. During my 15 minutes of over-lotioned arms and little, pointy finger neck squeezes, I was given an amusing item. Maria handed me a little frame and said, "Here's your entertainment; an embarrassing picture of my sister!" They both laughed so hard they could barely stand it. Finally, my "massage" was over. Now reeking of liquid sugar cookies, I walked out of the parlor with my prizes: a little plastic dolphin and a foil heart ornament. (is this a fun fair?) I could hardly contain myself when I was then handed this:

Yesssssss! *arm pump* Only seventy-five cents next time!

That is hysterical!

The house we grew up in had a 3-tiered deck on the back, so my sister and I used to put on concerts on the top deck and set up seating on the bottom deck. We sold tickets for 25 cents each and pretended we were Gem and the Rockers.

Love this! I would pay double for that kind of treatment! Ask them if they have an opening Friday night! I love how their little minds work and how they are already trying to figure out a business venture.
