Hey Local Folks! 5/12

"Hey Cheapo! Are you grocery shopping today?"

Mcfrug was just crazy with coupons today. So many deals to be had, she c
ouldn't pick just ONE store; she had to stop at FOUR!

The First Shop Stop: Local Five Star (Triple Coupon Day!)
3 boxes Kleenex: $2.97 - $1.50 Sunday Q = $1.47 for three
Muffin Mix: $2.00 - $1.20 Sunday Q = $.80
Brownie Mix: $2.00 - $1.50 Sunday Q = $.50
2 Skippy Naturals: $5.00 - $2.40 x2 Q's = $2.60 for two
Ragu: $2.00 - $1.10 (I don't know why it rang up $1.10) Q = $.90

Total: $14.18 - $7.70 Q's = $6.48

The Second Shop Stop: Walgreens
(by the way, I did Five Star and Walgreens both while my son was at his 1/2 hr. piano lesson - so I don't want to hear any "I don't have time" remarks. *wink*)

Ok, Walgreens is kind of tricky because their computer system has a whacked out coupon problem. It's not my normal purchasing place - but couldn't pass up the food deals. I'll post about the WAGS issues sometime soon.

2 boxes Oatmeal: $5.00 - $1.00 oatmeal box Q = $4.00 for two
2 Dole Fruit: $3.98 - $1.00 printable = $2.98 for two
6 boxes Jello: $3.54 - $2.00 printables (x2) = $1.54 for six
8 easy Macs: $8.00 - $4.00 in printables = $4.00 for eight

After giving her my $5.00 register reward and clearing up the coupon mess, I ended up paying $8.52 for over $20 worth of stuff.

The Third Shop Stop: Martin's Supermarket

Active Yogurt: $2.00 - $1.00 Sunday Q = $1.00
A1 sauce: $2.79 - $2.00 Sunday Q = $.79
Coffeemate: $3.49 - $1.00 printable = $2.49
4 Ritz Crackers: $8.00 - $4.00 printables = $4.00 for four
(there were also $1.00 peelies next to the crackers in the store)
4 Oscar Mayer hot dogs: $6.00 - $2.00 printab
les = $4.00 for four

Total: $22.23 - $10.00 Q's = $12.23
(oh, plus you get a $.05 discount for every reusable bag you bring)

The Fourth Shop Stop: K
roger
(Remember, Kroger doubles coupons up to $.50 face value everyday!)

Since this stop included a few more items, I'm just going to list some of the coupons used:
Kraft Cheese $1.00 on 2, Hormel $.75 Sunday Q, Daisy Sr. Cream $1.00 Sunday Q, Wheat Thins $1.00 printable, Triscuits $1.00 printable (after Q's, both of these crackers came to $1 per box), Kellogg's cereal $1.00 printables (making them $.88 per box), Green Giant $1.00 Sunday Q

Total: $55.83 - $18.75 Q's = $37.08

After all of the groc hunting I did this week, I spent $53.37 in coupons alone.
My savings was 56% - and that doesn't include sale v/s regular prices.

Whew.
