Don't Hold The Mayo

First of all, I can not even think about starting a blog post about mayonnaise without saying...

Miracle Whip is NOT a substitute for mayonnaise.

Please keep repeating that until you understand. I KNOW some of you out there believe they are interchangeable. Trust me...they. are. not. Miracle Whip is made for bologna sandwiches, NOT for deviled eggs or potato salad. It's just not, people! With that off of my shoulders, let's get on to the good stuff!

"As moms, we know that no matter what lunch we prepare for our kids, they always seem to want to swap sandwiches with their friends once they get to the cafeteria at school! When it comes to the time-honored tradition of swapping sandwiches, our kids may be having all the fun. Luckily, Hellmann's® and Best Foods® Mayonnaise has teamed up with musician and actor Billy Ray Cyrus to encourage people of all ages to celebrate their favorite childhood ritual and join the virtual Sandwich Swap 'n' Share program to raise money for Feeding America®, the nation's leading domestic hunger-relief charity.

MomSelect is asking our members to join Billy Ray Cyrus, celebrated celebrity dad, in contributing to this very worthy cause. For every sandwich created as part of the virtual Sandwich Swap 'n' Share program on Facebook.com/hellmanns, Hellmann's® and Best Foods® will donate 7 lunches to
Feeding America®.

If that isn't enough to get you to click over right now, you just might win something, too! Each sandwich created will automatically enter you for a chance to win a $250 grocery store gift certificate. And for every friend on Facebook® that you share your sandwich with, Hellmann's® and Best Foods® will donate an additional 7 lunches to the charity."

Sounds great, right? Just wait until you see what types of yummy sammys you can make! Actually, stacking up that foccacia bread, grilled chicken, avocado and mayo made my stomach growl! Not into sandwiches? Well, these are virtal of course, but here is something you might really like! I'll even help you out with a $1.00 off any (2) Hellmann's or Best Food's printable coupon, just to get you started.

With baseball playoffs and football season right around the corner, I bet you are in need of some recipes to feed your sports nuts. Here is one for you that I have been making for years...and of course it contains mayonnaise...
not Miracle Whip.

Reuben Dip

3 Pkgs. Budding Corned Beef, pieced (I like to use the plain beef)
16 oz. can saurkraut, drained
8 oz. shredded or chopped swiss cheese
1 c. mayonnaise
3 green onions, chopped
Party ryes, crackers, chips - whatever you like to use for a "dipper"

Mix all ingredients. Bake at 350 degrees for 1/2 hour or until melted. Serve warm on party ryes. You could even have a side of Thousand Island dressing if you wanted even MORE of the reuben taste.

So, what are you waiting for? Head over to facebook and help some people get fed!

(repeat: Miracle Whip is NOT a substitute for mayonnaise...Miracle Whip is NOT a substitute for mayonnaise...)

Yeah, Miracle Whip is NOT an acceptable substitute for mayo, especially when you tell someone it's made with mayo, and they take a bite and can tell it's not because they hate Miracle Whip.
